Job Summary

You will work within the Asset Management Team and be responsible for all aspects of document control for the Engineering function at the Port of Dover. You will be the primary interface for all aspects of document & record management and governance within both the document management system and asset management maintenance system for whole asset life cycle management of all Port documentation.

Some of your duties will include, but not limited to:

- Providing tactical day to day oversight within projects to facilitate the smooth collation and handover of documentation data in approved format

- Play an integral part in the function of project delivery, handover and the maintenance of operational documentation. Ensuring that the Boards assets are able to be maintained and repaired effectively, efficiently and to the appropriate standards of safety through the utilisation of documentation and accompanying data.

- Setting up and managing workflows, statuses, owners and reviews of documentation

- Ensuring compliance activities are carried out for documentation as needed.

- Be actively involved in the improvement of document management process and systems to meet the current and future business needs

- Ensure data structures and standards support the storage and easy accessibility for documentation a full range of stake holder needs

Skills and Qualifications

  • GCSEs Grade 4 or above to include Maths and English
  • Extensive document control experience, managing documentation from project inception through every stage of an assets life cycle
  • Experience of working with and managing Document Management Systems
  • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office applications to include: Word, Excel (formulas and macros) and Outlook
  • Good working knowledge of MS Power query for automation of routine data tasks and problem solving or a demonstrable ability to learn Power Query
  • Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle
