Applications are invited for the position of Senior Radiographer at the Galway Clinic.

The role:

• To undertake Radiographic and Imaging Examinations as required.
• To maintain a high standard of Radiography.
• To take part in on-call service as required.
• To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection (justification, optimisation and dose constraints/limits are adhered to.
• To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures.
• To report any defects or problems either directly to Radiology Manager or Clinical Specialist in area where working.
• To keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required. To actively participate in Continuing Professional Development.
• To participate and support research projects and undertake training of more junior or less experienced staff.
• To report all defects and occurrences which might affect safety.
• To carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in area where working.

  The Candidate:

• Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or have a Bachelor of Science or its equivalent (Diagnostic Radiography).
• CORU registration
• Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a broad range of examinations
• Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers.
• Have proven ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Evidence of continuing professional development.
• Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
• Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
