Qualities & Experience:
We are looking for an HR manager to lead our small HR team, based out of Winfrith in Dorset. The Company has 4 Operational depots in the South and South East. Approx 110 Permanent employees and up to 300 Contractors and Sub contractors.
The successful candidate will be a proven manager, a proactive and driven team player with relevant HR experience at the business level, developing and implementing HR processes and systems in support of high tempo and technically demanding operations.
To perform well in this role you should have experience as an HR manager, or other senior roles in the HR team, and extensive knowledge of all legal requirements of HR management. We look forward to finding the right person to join our successful company and lead this business-critical team.
Job Purpose:
Accountable to the MD for leading the Human Resources department and the management our people, both employees and subcontractors, and in support of the company's achievement of its contracted outputs. Specifically, application of HR policies and employment law, recruiting and induction, ensuring individuals' engineering compliance and engineering permit systems, managing HR systems, procedures, and processes, whilst maintaining an efficient, safe and inclusive working environment.
Mandatory Qualifications /Competencies:
CIPD Level 5+ or Human Resources Management Degree Equivalent
Knowledge and experience advising Employment law, and providing support/guidance.
Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
Business HR procedures development, application & management.
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with workforce and clients.
Strong IT skills and competency in MS Word, Excel & Outlook
Key Responsibilities:
Leading a small HR team managing our employees and subcontractors.
Subject Matter Expert on all HR matters and advisor to the MD and Board on Employment law, guidance, and HR policy.
Recruiting employees and subcontractors and managing their placements within the business.
Developing clear HR policies and procedures and ensuring awareness and compliance across the business.
Maintaining an effective induction / onboarding process including coordination with 3rd party labour providers.
Maintaining the HR data base and ensuring GDPR compliance.
Managing our engineering permissions/permit compliance systems.
Managing HR administrative systems and procedures, and coordination with other departments.
Resolving conflicts through positive and professional mediation.
Conducting performance and wage reviews.
Handling workplace investigations, disciplinary, and termination procedures.
Maintaining employee and workplace confidentiality.
Creating clear and concise HR MIS reports for MD and the Board.
Developing, counselling, and coaching our staff in coordination with the Training Officer.
No prior experience of the gas engineering industry is required, this will be developed "on the job".
Salary Range:£48,000- £55,000 Per Annum (dependant on qualifications, skills ,and experience)
Hours: 45 Hours Per Week Monday-Friday (example: 0800-1700hrs negotiable with Line Manager )
Holiday: 25 Holidays plus UK 8+Public Holidays
