Job Objectives:


The Role of The Behavioural Specialist has a pivotal role in the delivery of effective, high quality, team based, and clinical support to individual service users with intellectual disability, behaviours of concern and complex needs.


  • Conducting comprehensive functional behavioural assessments
  • Develop appropriate interventions and positive behavioural supports in line with best practice
  • Monitor and evaluate positive behavioural support plans
  • To work with other staff in preparation for multi-disciplinary reviews
  • To attend and contribute to appropriate multi-disciplinary meetings
  • To work within limits of professional competence in line with principles of best practice, professional codes of conduct and clinical governance
  • Develop and deliver appropriate staff training in positive behavioural support
  • Be informed of advances in professional knowledge and practice by continuing professional development
  •  Attend appropriate CPD
  • To work within the appropriate boundaries of confidentiality
  • To communicate well with professionals, both in the multi-disciplinary team and with other agencies
  • To communicate effectively and sensitively with residents and staff
  • Administration


 

Role Requirements:

 

Qualifications

  • Primary Degree in Psychology
  • Post-graduate qualification in Behavioural Analysis or equivalent

 

Essential Experience

  • Minimum one years' experience with adults with disabilities including Intellectual Disability, Acquired Brain Injury, Mental Health and Physical Disability

 

Desirable

  • Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
