Applications are invited for the position of Acting CNM2 (Cardiology - O'Malley Unit)

This role is on full-time, temporary basis (maternity leave cover) 37.5 hours per week.

The Acting CNM2 will be responsible for co-ordinating, managing and leading the development and delivery of nursing services in the O'Malley Unit (OMU).

The primary role of the CNM2 will be one of clinical and professional leadership in the nursing team. The Acting CNM2 will demonstrate a high level of skill and competency to aid the efficient, effective care and streamlining of patients through the unit, co-ordination and management of activity and resources within the clinical area. The successful candidate will work closely with nursing management, bed management, discharge planning and the interdisciplinary team in achieving the aims of the unit.

The Candidate:

• Current registration in the General Division with NMBI
• BSc qualification preferred, management qualification and a relevant post graduate qualification also desirable
• Nursing experience 5 years in total with 3-4 years cardiology nursing experience or related area
• Have proven Clinical, Leadership, Managerial & Customer Care skills
• Proactive approach to planning with effective co-ordination of resources
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to motivate staff
• Flexibility in work practices.
