MES Engineer (POMSnet)

The company is 25 years old and employs over 200 talented automation, electrical and IT engineers across offices in Dublin, Cork, Galway, Waterford, and Chesterfield, UK.


We are currently seeking MES Engineers (3+ years' experience) to work on leading-edge automation projects, predominantly in the Energy, Life Science and Food & Beverage sectors. A background in GAMP 5 and experience with Siemens, Rockwell, POMS (POMSnet) and AVEVA (Wonderware) products would be a distinct advantage.


This role is offered as a full-time staff position, based out of our Cork office, with an excellent salary and benefits package.


Responsibilities/ Duties

  • Working with a team of digital manufacturing/automation engineers managing and delivering projects to customer sites
  • Coordinating with the Process, Design teams to review and update the design as per Process
  • Responsible for validating and testing the MES Recipe design as per process logic and mapping
  • Developing engineering design documents, technical evaluations, and test plans for cGMP process equipment and following GAMP 5 guidelines.
  • Preparation of Functional Design specification
  • Incident management: Raising tickets and coordinating with other support teams and application vendor for resolving issues and accordingly tracking them to close
  • Change management: Raising change requests based on the MES Application modification / upgrade requirements from the Business
  • Implementing, testing and deploying the changes as per requirement.
  • Working closely with customers to identify areas for improvement through the use of automation and data analytics technology.
  • Providing technical and automation operational support to Engineering, Manufacturing, Validation and Facilities departments.


Qualifications/ Skills/ Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering/ Computer Science / Information Systems or related field.
  • 3 or more years' MES engineering experience.
  • Experience working with MES systems, preferably POMSnet.
  • PLC Programming Experience: Siemens/ Allen-Bradley/ Schneider.
  • HMI / SCADA Experience: Siemens / Rockwell/ AVEVA / Schneider.
  • Experience with control networks and communications systems (Profibus, Modbus, DeviceNet).
  • Experience working with validated Automation systems in the Pharmaceutical or Food Beverage manufacturing environment.
