Commissioning Manager

We are currently seeking experienced Commissioning Manager (10+ years) to join our expanding teams Dublin. Experience within Power Generation, Energy or Oil & Gas industries would be highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with design and construction teams to ensure commissioning requirements are incorporated into the project from pre-operational testing stage through to initial startup and final monitoring & testing phases.
  • Lead and manage the commissioning team, including engineers, technicians, contractors, vendors and subcontractors. Facilitate regular meetings with the project team to review progress, risks, and issues.
  • Perform a project risk assessment and take appropriate control measures before starting any major testing and commissioning.
  • Oversee complete commissioning and performance acceptance testing of the following systems: 1) building control and monitoring systems; 2) HVAC, fire suppression systems; and 3) electrical infrastructure systems.
  • Plan and execute pre-commissioning activities such as mechanical systems inspections to ensure components installed correctly and according to design specifications, electrical system testing to ensure proper connections and conformance to electrical codes, & I&C checks ensuring systems are correctly calibrated and communicating with the control room.
  • Manage documentation related to commissioning, including test scripts, commissioning checklists, and final acceptance reports.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and emissions standards related to gas turbine operations- comply with Irish and EU regulations, as well as relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, ASME, and European Emission Standards).
  • Provide technical guidance and training to the commissioning team and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards throughout the commissioning phase.
  • Ensure a smooth handover to the operations and maintenance team, providing necessary training and technical support.

 

Qualifications

  • Level 8 Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering or related fields (or equivalent work experience).
  • 10+ years of experience leading commissioning activities for large-scale gas turbine projects or large-scale data centre projects within the power generation sector
  • Strong understanding of control systems, electrical systems, instrumentation, and mechanical equipment related to power generation.
  • In-depth knowledge of gas turbine systems (e.g., Siemens, GE, Mitsubishi, etc.), including combustion, compressor, turbine, and generator components.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, and system specifications.
