We would like to invite applications the position of Clinical Nurse Manager in Nenagh Rehabilitation Unit, Tyone, Nenagh Co. Tipperary,

 


Roles and Responsibilities:


General Responsibilities 

  • Ensure that the provision of a high standard of care to the residents or patients is consistent with the mission, vision, values and strategic plan of Bartra Healthcare. 
  • Ensure recognition of the resident/ patient as an individual; ensuring their rights, needs and comfort are given priority during the provision of care.  
  • Develop relationships with residents/patients, which facilitates their autonomy, informed choice and evidence-based decision-making.  
  • Promote and maintain resident/patients' safety and provide quality care through respecting the privacy, dignity, and their rights. 
  • Maximise the residents'/patients capacity to exercise personal autonomy and choice.  
  • Assist residents/ patients to maintain their sense of identity and include them in decision making whenever possible.  
  • Ensure that Bartra Healthcare is operated in a manner that respects the age, gender, sexual orientation, disability, family status, civil status, race, religious beliefs and ethnic and cultural background of each resident.  

 

Management Responsibilities 

  • Be responsible for the following in relation to Governance, Leadership and Management: 
  • In the absence of the Assistant Director of Nursing, undertake the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations and the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) standards. 
  • Support the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing the day to day management of the Place of Work  
  • Act as a member of the Bartra Healthcare Teams, including, as deemed required by the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing, the Multidisciplinary Care Team, the Risk Management Team, the Incident Management Team and the Infection Control Team.  


Quality and Safety Management System: 

  • Support and implement the Quality and Safety Management System, including resident involvement. The Quality and Safety Management System shall encompass ongoing monitoring of the service and care provided within Bartra Healthcare Facility, including the annual review of the quality and safety of care provided.  
  • Participate in the Bartra Healthcare processes as deemed required by the Registered Provider/Director of Nursing. This may include involvement and implementation of controls in the development and update of Bartra Healthcare Risk Management Registers and resident's Individual Risk Management Plans. 
  • Recommend the development and/or revision of policies and procedures to the Registered Provider/Board of Directors in line with applicable laws, standards and clinical best practice and be responsible for the development, implementation and compliance to the policies and procedures 

 

Eligibility criteria/ Qualifications and/or experience


Qualifications  

  • A registered General Nurse registered with An Bord Altranis . 
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.  


Desirable: 

       Acute nursing experience

       Experience of surgical , medical , trauma and rehab care patients

       Wound care and management

       Qualification in management

       Gerontology experience 

       Experience of dealing with MDT Physio/ OT /MSW /SLT

       Experience in nursing metrics / audits

       Incident management

       Have an in-depth knowledge of the ageing process.

       Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a team

       IT Skills 

       Competent in IV administration and cannulation

 

Experience: 

Essential:

  •  Minimum three years post graduate experience with a minimum of one-year experience at CNM level. 
  • Acute nursing experience
  • BLS
  • Registered with NMBI
