  • Job Title: Laboratory Technician

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week 9am - 5pm
  • Location: Ellesmere Port 
  • Salary  £23,432

Responsible for analysis of samples in compliance with Industry published standards or In-house company specified test methods. Ensuring results are reported within agreed customer timeframes.
•    Responsible, where appropriate, for accurately entering laboratory test data into relevant IT LIMS systems, ensuring results are reported within agreed customer timeframes.
•    Ensuring that all maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment is being carried out, allowing for the smooth and efficient operation of the laboratory.
•    Assisting with the training of new laboratory staff to ensure they are fully competent with the required testing.
•    Assisting with the development of any new test methodology.
•    Assisting with the instalment, validation, training and any future development work for any new instrumentation.
•    Responsible for identifying personal training needs and to update personal training records accordingly. 
•    Assisting to build a good working relationship between colleagues and other teams to reduce inefficiencies and capture all business opportunities.
•    Reporting near misses and hazards to line manager and registering any occurrences on the company’s quality system.
•    At all times, adopting a safe behavior protocol by exercising due regard for the health and safety of colleagues and clients, which are in line with the Company’s policies and procedures. 
•    Ensuring full compliance with the Company’s Code of Integrity & Professional Conduct and always adopting behavior protocols in accordance with SGS UK’s Equality & Diversity Policy.
