Job Description

We are looking for a caring, compassionate male live in care assistant for an active 81 year old gentleman with mild/ moderate dementia. Our client enjoys outings and wishes to be out and about most days, regular activities include snooker, gym visits, gardening and outdoor walks and we seek carers who will really enjoy arranging and accompanying him to his activities.

Minimal personal care requirement at present but a willingness to support with this if the situation requires.

Pay £125 per day ( holiday pay accruement making it £140 per worked day ) pension and with early pay drawdown access.

Start date is early July 2024, two weeks on two weeks off rotation

Responsibilities:

  • Get to know your client, their daily routine, and the ways they like things to be done
  • Ensure the home is clean and tidy, aiding with housekeeping duties such as washing dishes, hoovering and laundry
  • Cook your client's favourite meals and support them at meal times
  • Complete accurate notes and records, informing the office of any concerns
  • Take your client to places of their choice, such as to the shops or a local gym, helping arrange and accompany our client on outings
  • Helping with personal care should this be required
  • Helping with mobility around the home
  • Overseeing medication and providing medical support
  • Running errands such as food shopping or picking up prescriptions

In addition to this you will receive either a £50 meal allowance or you will be provided with 3 meals a day, a separate room to stay in and access to a TV and WiFi. For any travel you do whilst on placement for our client, you will be also be paid a mileage allowance of 45p per mile. Whilst with a client you can expect to work on average 8-10 hours per day, although this may vary depending on the needs of the client. You will get a break of at least 2 hours.
