Job Description

In this role, the Hub Project Manager will be working alongside our Hub management team on a range of business projects, whilst learning about our Hub Operations and helping the teams achieve even greater success.

The Hub Project Manager will gain a strong understanding of the different operational and support function areas, learning the value that each department brings to the operation to give them the required knowledge when managing projects. The HPM will be assigned project leads to facilitate each of the projects and will guide them to each milestone whilst also communicating any delays or required decisions from key stakeholders.

The role requires flexibility to work between the hours of 8am-8pm, with an expectation to work night shifts on occasion (up until to 3am) depending on the project. In our peak period (last six weeks of the year) you will be expected to work nights and support the hub operation and IOC department as we manage our most challenging volumes.

Responsibilities & Desirables:

  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in project management.

  • 6 Sigma and Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen knowledge is advantageous for the role as are any project manager qualifications (i.e. Prince2).

  • Work with the management teams across all Hubs (located in Smethwick, Oldbury and Hinckley) to assess areas for improvement and to take action to provide best practice.

  • Liaise and present to project stakeholders to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives.

  • Use the OPEX mentality and the DMAIC framework to establish the best solutions when delivering projects.

  • Assist project leads with schedule management, guidance and key decisions from stakeholders.

  • Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants.

  • Work closely with the IT department on Data Protection Impact Analysis

  • Work closely with Legal for the onboarding of any new suppliers both from a DPIA & NDA perspective 

  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and weekly update reports.

  • Assist with planning and resource allocation of Hub strategic initiatives

  • Seek out and provide insight into future trends, emerging technologies, and any associated analytics

  • Ensure all project documentation is kept up to date, in a clear and consistent manner.

  • Producing information and summaries in a clear and concise manner

  • Achieving the Hub objectives relating to Health & Safety and productivity to deliver outstanding service to our Depots and Customers.

  • Manage all operational procedures ensuring the immediate resolution of any problems, whilst maintaining high quality in all of our processes. 

  • Working on and leading  a wide range of hub projects such as the implementation of new technology, data visualisation, employee development initiatives, etc.
