We are currently working with a family-run day nursery located in Ilford, Essex. The nursery caters to children aged between 3 months and 5 years and are looking to add an energetic and enthusiastic Early Years Practitioner to their growing team. .

As an Early Years Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering rich learning opportunities and exceptional care to help children develop and meet their individual needs. You will work in a collaborative environment, ensuring that the nursery provides a stimulating and inspiring experience for all children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver rich learning opportunities and exceptional care for children.
  • Make accurate and effective assessments to reflect the needs, interests, and stages of development of each child.
  • Ensure an enabling environment with consistent, stimulating, and inspiring activities both indoors and outdoors.
  • Incorporate and demonstrate British Values through Early Years Foundation Stage learning and play.
  • Safeguard and promote the health, safety, and welfare of children in line with our policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to internal policies and external legislation and guidelines from governing bodies.
  • Promote and follow guidelines for managing behaviour, supporting children in managing their own feelings and behaviours.
  • Work in partnership with colleagues, parents, carers, and other professionals to meet the individual needs of children.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication at all levels.
  • Attend staff meetings and training sessions for continuous professional development.
  • Assist in completing essential day-to-day tasks such as hygiene standards and room preparation.
  • Provide support for colleagues within the nursery and the broader business.
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 2 or Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Childcare.
  • Understanding of a play-based approach to children’s learning and development.
  • Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and child protection procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience of working within the Early Years Sector.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and embrace new ways of doing things.
