Charters Retirement Village based in East Grinstead, West Sussex is on the lookout for a Chef Manager to work 8am - 4pm Weds to Sun. This role is part-time and could also be a job share.

This role develops a compelling, cost-effective and sustainable food and beverage offering to meet the needs of RVG’s resident and wider customer base.  Actively contributing to creating the environment where our Residents are at the heart of Village life, where they feel appreciated, engaged, and empowered to live their best lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives delivery and evaluation of Village food and beverage services. Holds themselves and others to account for delivering and upholding all legal, regulatory and professional service standards.
  • Works with Head of Hospitality to develop a compelling menu offering that meets the needs of RVG’s residents, visitors and wider customer groups within agreed budgets.
  • Seeks out and agrees ways to improve food and beverage offering, production, service and profitability, in line with group strategy.
  • Ensures all hospitality staff understand their responsibility to provide a safe and hygienic food service environment; ensure effective cleaning practices for all hospitality service areas.
  • Seeks feedback from village residents, customers and visitors to identify their needs /issues /concerns and seeks opportunity to anticipate and delight.
  • Deals with resident and customer enquiries and complaints professionally and courteously, seeking ways to learn and drive continuous improvement.
  •  Leads by example to build, maintain and strengthen effective relationships with residents.  Actively contributes to creating the environment where our Residents are at the heart of Village life, where they feel appreciated, engaged, and empowered to live their best lives.
  • Uses technology, systems and processes to track and manage food and beverage income and impact, to maximise profitability and deliver a sustainable offering
  • Maintains an in-depth understanding of technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing learning and reading specialist media.
