London Youth Sports Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Assistant Manager at The Griffin Sports Ground. As a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting youth sports and development in the South London area, we provide a range of facilities and programmes to ensure young people have access to high-quality sporting opportunities.

In this role, you will work closely with the Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of The Griffin Sports Ground. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing activities and events, ensuring the facility is well-maintained and presentable and managing a small team of staff members. This is a fantastic opportunity for a sports enthusiast who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people through sports, or a dynamic hospitality whizz looking to transition into the non-profit sector.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Manager in the overall management and administration of The Griffin Sports Ground.
  • Coordinate and oversee activities and events at the facility.
  • Oversee daily bar operations including inventory management and compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Ensure the facility is maintained to a high standard, including regular cleaning and maintenance checks.
  • Manage a small team of staff members, including hiring, training, and scheduling.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the use of the facility and increase participation in youth sports.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to facility users and address any issues or concerns.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a bar, restaurant or sports facility.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership abilities and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in relation to sports facilities and / or bars and restaurants.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with people of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, as required.
  • A passion for youth sports and a commitment to promoting the benefits of physical activity and team sports is a bonus.
