We are looking for a brilliant junior publicist with experience of media relations, including selling in, securing coverage and building journalist and influencer relationships – with a list of trusted consumer media contacts you can turn to. You’ll also live and breathe the media, keeping an eye on industry news, journalist moves and the latest publications to launch.

You’ll have worked with influencers previously, sourcing and negotiating partnerships and overseeing content delivery for clients as part of integrated campaigns. Plus, be highly creative with a proactive attitude to taking part in agency-wide brainstorms, inputting into PR planning (e.g. story angles) and thinking of ways to make land quality and engaging coverage and content for our clients.

You’ll also be a great support for the PR team, taking the lead on admin tasks such as coverage monitoring, compiling status reports and maintaining campaign and press office trackers, which are all help client accounts run smoothly.

Key responsibilities:

Media relations

  • Developing new and existing relationships with press to generate coverage
  • Developing pitch and story angles and inputting into sell-in plans
  • Selling in / securing coverage for campaigns and within press office
  • Forward features outreach to explore coverage opportunities  
  • Creating and maintaining media lists
  • Copy writing e.g. press releases, comp copy, influencer posts
  • Organising media mailers / product loans
  • Staying up to date with key media and sharing updates with wider team, plus leading paper reading with the team

Influencer outreach and partnerships

  • Influencer identification
  • Securing and managing influencer partnerships
  • Maintaining lists of influencer/agent contacts and relationships

Account admin and support

  • Monitoring press coverage for clients and maintaining trackers
  • Attending client calls
  • Inputting into status reports
  • Inputting into brainstorms / idea development
  • Research for pitches and new business opportunities

  • Organised – be able to organise and prioritise workload effectively and manage up when needed
