We’re looking for a Product Tester to join Phlo on a full time, permanent basis. You’ll work directly with Phlo’s Product Owners, Engineers and Designers to manually test our healthcare software products. While Phlo operates extensive automated testing, we also perform manual product testing before every release. You will work with Patient, Pharmacy and Partner teams, where needed, to prepare and run manual product tests.

You’ll have a good eye for detail, be curious, and work in a structured and analytical way. A key focus of this role is identifying, prioritising and logging potential defects in mobile and web apps, and back-end systems based on structured and exploratory testing. It’s desirable if you’ve had some exposure to a start-up/scale-up environment. Experience in manual software testing or healthcare technology is advantageous but not essential as training will be given.

The Job

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Manual testing, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and execute comprehensive manual tests for our software products. This includes verifying functionality, identifying defects, and ensuring adherence to specifications and acceptance criteria.
  • Planning and managing tests and test cases using our Qase tool to manage test cases, track defects, and maintain test documentation.
  • Supporting our products by working closely with Product Owners to provide test coverage for critical features and enhancements. Your insights will contribute to the overall quality of our releases.
  • Managing issues and taking ownership of the Testing team's overall issues list.
  • You’ll prioritize and communicate defects effectively, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on timelines.
  • Effective two-way communication and collaboration are essential for successful testing, so you’ll foster strong relationships with colleagues across development, design, and business teams.
  • You’ll engage with stakeholders to understand their requirements, address concerns, and provide regular updates on testing progress. Your ability to manage expectations will be important.
  • You’ll organize and prioritize your own work, and that of the Testing team, efficiently. You’ll juggle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  • You’ll contribute to a positive work environment by promoting teamwork, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
  • You’ll advocate for the Testing team's needs and well-being.
  • You’ll represent the Testing team as a reliable partner within the organization and showcase the value of thorough testing and its impact on product success.

  • Proficient manual tester with experience in Agile development, Jira, and test case management tools.
  • Passionate about testing as a function and championing the value of testing when employed alongside other disciplines
  • Comfortable understanding multiple different systems and their interactions
  • Curious and able to think of different exploratory approaches that might achieve an outcome or break a feature
  • Confident in your conclusions and able to communicate those clearly to others in a concise and structured way so that others can reproduce test outcomes when it’s needed
  • Exposure to a start-up/scale up environment is helpful but not essential
  • Comfortable working within a fast-paced environment and able to adapt to changing demands
