Here at settle we are looking for an inspirational leader with a passion for property and resident services. You will bring a wealth of experience in leading operational teams and providing brilliant services.  Alongside your relevant experience you will embrace settles culture and continue to embed these into the operational delivery, ensuring best possible outcomes for our residents. 

Requirements

You will:

  • Lead by example by inspiring and coaching managers to ensure high levels of productivity, performance and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure exceptional contract and supply chain leadership and management.
  • Be able to manage large property maintenance budgets in a commercial way that ensures the best outcome for residents and be able to clearly articulate how we achieve this. Having a good understanding and being able to build strong relationships with finance colleagues.
  • Be able to talk at all levels of the organisation, including Board and Committees, Executive team, Executive led panels and other working groups, to large groups of colleagues within and outside of your direct control in order we create a clear sense of direction and vision for where we want the directorate to go.
  • Being present and visible to all colleagues in your directorate (at least 3 days per week – (requirement to be on site from 8 am frequently)
  • Implementing robust support and performance management processes within the directorate.
  • Have a strong sector understanding, awareness of consumer regulation, awareness of repairs standards, home standards and general awareness of compliance issues within property operations.
  • Being able to delegate very effectively, achieving great outcomes with the support of colleagues both within and outside of your direct team
  • Be able to work within and across the business to implement change and improvement programs. Share a vision for a best in sector property operations directorate and execute plans to achieve this.
  • Skilled in the use of systems, data for decision making, driving productivity and professionalism in the services we provide and the performance outcomes we need to achieve.
  • Ensure our services are easy to do business with and straightforward to engage with.
  • Embody the cultural values of settle by being a positive role model who values and invests in relationships with residents, partners and colleagues.
  • Ensure good customer service by taking ownership of continuous improvements and efficiencies.

We are looking for someone who has.....

  • Experience of working in a senior property operations director level role in an organisation of similar size and complexity
  • A track record of translating technical expertise into practical and deliverable output
  • Demonstrate a successful results-driven approach (customer and commercial excellence) leading direct labour teams as well as supporting subcontractors.
  • Budget and forecast excellence and experience in the delivery of expenditure on budget.
  • Experience of policy and procedure ownership and development.
  • Understanding and experience of strong operational management and leadership.
  • A proactive, visible and engaging leader providing support to operational teams whilst building their capacity and expertise.
  • Strong and effective communication with the ability to tailor your approach to a wide range of audiences.
  • Critical thinker with a business intelligence and data approach in decision making.
  • Be self-motivated and manage a busy and varied workload.
