Debden Retirement Village is on the lookout for a Gardener to work 25 hours a week, Monday- Friday with additional on call support required on a rota basis - (one week out of the 4 in a month)

Pay is between £12.50-£13.50

As a Gardener at Debden you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by creating beautiful outdoor spaces that they can enjoy and relax in.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the planting and maintenance of flowers, plants, and trees.
  • Performing regular watering, pruning, and weeding to keep the gardens tidy and vibrant.
  • Maintaining lawns, hedges, and other green areas.
  • Operating and maintaining gardening equipment and tools.
  • Assisting in the implementation of landscaping projects.
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure the gardens meet the expectations and preferences of our residents.
  • Following health and safety guidelines to create a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • In winter months may involve some inside duties such as changing light bulbs in residents room etc

Requirements

  • Previous experience in gardening or landscaping is preferred, but not required.
  • Passion for working with plants and creating beautiful outdoor spaces.
  • Basic knowledge of gardening techniques and plant care.
  • Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions.
  • Physical stamina to perform gardening tasks, including lifting and operating equipment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to garden maintenance.
