Background:Led by racing legend Michael Andretti, the team fields multiple entries in INDYCAR, INDY NXT, IMSA and Formula E. The global racing enterprise boasts over 250 race wins, four INDYCAR Series championships, five INDY NXT titles, one Indy Pro 2000 and one USF2000 championship, and has captured victory five times at the famed Indianapolis 500-Mile Race. The team is now looking to expand into the pinnacle of motorsport through our Andretti Cadillac Team. 

Job description:We have an opportunity for a Senior Race Strategy Analyst to join the Andretti Cadillac Team at the new Silverstone Facility. This role is responsible for supporting the race team to deliver the optimum race outcome at each event, both at the track and through management of factory support.  This includes guiding the development of bespoke strategy tools and analysis methods, as well as ensuring the continuous improvement of operational processes at the factory and at the track.  This role is also responsible for providing engineering support for car development, looking at future regulations and their impacts on race strategy. Principal Accountabilities

  • Working closely with the Head of Race Strategy & Tyre Performance to define the department strategic direction and plan projects around available resources
  • Supporting the race team in race weekend optimization and management during the event (either trackside or from the factory)
  • Guiding development of race strategy tools, methods, and infrastructure
  • Guiding development of competitor analysis tools
  • Continuously improving operational processes at the track and the factory
  • Providing support and mentoring to junior members of the team
  • Looking at future regulations for expected impacts on race strategy
  • Reporting on car and team performance

Requirements

  • High level Formula One® experience in race strategy across multiple sets of sporting regulations.
  • Excellent critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Outstanding communicative and collaborative skills
  • Ability to drive projects and provide leadership and mentoring to junior members of the team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines with minimal errors.
  • Strong understanding of statistics and math related to race strategy optimization
  • Experience in performing data analysis, including data cleaning, transformation, and visualization, using Python, R, or equivalent.
  • Honesty, transparency, and integrity in all aspects of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and eagerness to contribute positively to an open and inclusive culture.
