Head of Acquisition at Craft Gin Club

Background:

We’re Craft Gin Club, the UK’s no.1 spirit subscription business. Ever since our founders pitched successfully on Dragons’ Den in 2016, we’ve been hard at work, scouring the country and the globe - to find the world's finest small-batch spirits. Every month, we send thousands of gin (and rum) lovers across the country a surprise box packed with a craft spirit, mixers, foodie treats and our club magazine, as well as attracting and engaging customers via our online shop.

Now entering its tenth year, Craft Gin Club has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Acquisition to join and support our passionate and talented marketing team, to expand our membership base within the UK and beyond. You’ll lead the charge in identifying, masterminding and launching performance and brand activity across multiple channels, multiple geographies and multiple products, to help us scale our advertising spend effectively and attract new customers.

You will report directly to the CMO and have a small team to lead, with an opportunity to scale that team as you help the business grow.

The Role:

  • Develop customer acquisition strategies to attract high-quality, new-to-brand members, across both digital and offline channels, and multiple spirit offerings.
  • Help us scale the business in new geographies, as we build on some exciting test results…
  • Roll your sleeves up and implement those strategies to win new business and drive acquisition performance
  • Own and manage the acquisition budget, to ensure you and your team are investing wisely, within acceptable CPA, payback and LTV thresholds.
  • Manage a portfolio of existing brand-to-brand, network and affiliate partners to nurture those relationships and deliver repeat business
  • Keep your finger on the pulse in terms of emerging channels and new partnership opportunities, to unearth new sources of customers for the business
  • Work closely with the wider marketing team to ensure we’re capitalising on site visits, and engaging and converting a decent percentage of prospects
  • Own the execution and launch of your deals, from contract negotiation, to briefing in assets and scheduling (with team support)
  • Live and breathe the results, to keep the wider business up-to-date with performance
  • Coach and line-manage your team, ensuring the pipeline is well-managed, the activity is flowing and we’re continually learning and iterating.

In more detail, this means:

  • Planning: working with analytics partners to forecast and measure key performance metrics
  • Outreaching: Prospecting new business, building your own pipeline
  • Selling: Having a natural flair for crafting and selling-in compelling deals
  • Creativity: Thinking creatively about how we can craft mutually beneficial partnerships, beyond just performance activity
  • Balancing: Being thoughtful about our multiple product offering, ensuring we’re putting the most compelling offer in front of the right audiences
  • Negotiating: Smartly negotiating commercial terms so they make sense for both parties
  • Iterating: Testing across live campaigns to improve customer response and payback
  • Relationships: Managing ongoing relationships to keep us front of mind
  • Quality: View growth beyond that of just acquisition; taking into account LTV
  • Leading: Engaging and coaching your team to hit their goals
