Our client, a well established artisan bakery business renowned for crafting the highest quality bread and pastries is embarking on a new phase of expansion and are now seeking passionate and dedicated Bakery Team Leader to join the team. They are dedicated to bringing unique and delicious flavours to their customers, and pride themselves on fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and respect within the team. 

In this dynamic role, you will collaborate closely with the executive baker and consultants to expand and refine production processes. You will receive comprehensive support and training, including in the use of bakery management software. The role of Team Leader is central to the creative and operational success of the bakery, requiring a combination of culinary expertise, leadership and managerial skills. This position not only involves the technical aspects of bread making but also the management of people, processes, and products to achieve excellence in both quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

- Production and Innovation: Consulting regular taste tests and quality evaluations of baked goods.

- Adjust recipes to meet quality standards, optimising hydration levels and mixing times

- Establish quality control checkpoints throughout the production process and train staff on proper techniques

- Develop training programmes to onboard new employees and enhance the skills of existing staff

- Ensure rigorous quality control throughout the production process.

- Inventory Management: Oversee all aspects of ordering to maintain efficient supplies.

- Work with mindfully sourced ingredients from small-scale producers, respecting the produce and valuing sustainable food systems.

Requirements

At least three years of experience in a professional baking environment, with a minimum of one year in a leadership role.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks in a dynamic setting.

Keen attention to detail to ensure the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Basic knowledge of food safety standards and practices.
