We are Health Unlimited and we are looking for a Scientific Director to join our Medical Education team, Rock Unlimited.

We work for pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer health companies, government agencies, medical societies and advocacy organisations. Our therapeutic areas include: CNS; dermatology; gastro-enterology; haemophilia; immunology; liver disease; oncology; ophthalmology; rare diseases; respiratory; and urology.

The Scientific Director is a key role within our agency. You will have excellent writing skills and broad understanding of clinical medicine with extensive experience. Working as an independent editorial lead across a range of projects, you will take pride in delivering exceptional work and will be highly organised and forward thinking to ensure that all deliverables meet your clients’ needs. You will mentor/line-manage team members within the company and help develop their writing ability and editorial experience through coaching and experience building

You will work with a talented team and be supported by people who have enormous experience and expertise to share.

Editorial proficiency

  • An extensive track record of delivering a range of different written outputs
  • Has mastered writing to appeal to a range of audiences
  • Provides expert editorial guidance, including strategic insights on written material across the team and to senior management
  • Develops tailored solutions to meet client needs and improved clarity of project outcomes
  • Confident in reviewing and signing off written work from other members of the editorial team

Strategic and scientific leadership

  • Trusted scientific partner and client counsel on the accounts under your remit, gaining the respect and trust of the clients
  • In-depth and confident understanding of clients’ scientific strategy
  • Provides scientific counsel and expertise to the wider HU team as the content lead
  • Acknowledged as the internal expert across several therapy areas
  • Proactive development of existing accounts through identification of opportunities for growth and conversion into new or ongoing work from clients

Leadership and team responsibilities

  • Mentor/line-manage team members within the company and help develop their writing ability and editorial experience through coaching and experience building
  • Ensure highest scientific standards and clinical accuracy across projects and teams
  • Proactively identify ways to improve the efficiency and quality of the scientific content team
  • Able to provide guidance to accounts teams on optimal project management, including inputting into budgets, timelines, and project planning

New business responsibilities

  • Strong experience of leading the scientific understanding and story for new business proposals
  • Generating new ideas/proposals for organic growth with existing clients
  • Experienced at successfully pitching for new business and presenting proposals
