We’ve sold millions of policies that have helped drivers get where they need to go, but we’re not finished there. We’re growing our team to help us continue in that mission. If you are extraordinary at what you do and want to be a part of a rapidly growing business at the cutting edge of the InsureTech industry, we would love to hear from you.

About the role:

This new role is an opportunity to be the driving force behind building Tempcover’s authority and expertise in a growing sector - temporary car insurance.

This is a chance to take ownership of a new consumer PR programme with ambitious goals - raising awareness of a relatively new category and cementing Tempcover’s category leadership in temporary insurance.

This is a great role for an experienced PR professional with an excellent knowledge of the national consumer media landscape.

What you will be doing:

Campaign management: Planning and delivery of consumer PR campaigns that support business and marketing objectives. Working with the product and commercial teams to ensure activity aligns with business priorities.

Content calendar: Landing front of paper coverage to drive consumer awareness, education and trust. Managing external consumer research, writing press releases to a high standard and ensuring the story pipeline is up to date and shared with wider marketing teams. Working closely with our Digital Earned Media and organic social media teams to ensure all activity is integrated.

Press office first response: Providing an industry-leading press office, answering media queries and managing our media centre. Managing spokesperson briefings and arranging high-profile TV and radio interviews.

Newsjacking: Monitoring industry agenda and daily news to identify opportunities to write and deliver expert commentary that cuts through in a crowded media space.

Media Relations: Building, maintaining and maximising strong relationships with consumer affairs, motoring, lifestyle, trade and broadcast media and other key industry influencers.

Regulatory support: Working with the policy and regulation team to provide PR support for our public affairs agenda.

Spokespeople: Managing, coaching and training spokespeople and coordinating their calendars for press/broadcast interviews and video/podcast appearances.

Agency management: Acting as day-to-day lead for the PR agency, ensuring we get value from our external support.

Reporting and coverage tracking: Recording all incoming media coverage and reporting on results.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Demonstrable experience in consumer PR with experience in a relevant sector (e.g. insurance, automotive, personal finance) with excellent communication skills. Proactive self-starter with a proven track record of, creating and owning consumer campaigns that deliver impactful results with minimal supervision.
  • A creative thinker, willing to test new ideas and think outside the box.
  • An ability to grasp complex topics and communicate them in consumer-friendly language.
  • Able to manage priorities and make strategic decisions
  • Ability to capitalise on  reactive media opportunities and turn around an accurate, newsworthy comment at pace, as well as creative thinking for proactive campaigns.
  • Strong writing skills - able to articulate messages in an engaging style with attention to detail. Comfortable working with insights, data and third party consumer research to support our storytelling.

You don’t need to tick off everything on this list - so don’t let that hold you back from applying. We want to make sure you’re learning plenty during your time with us!

Our commitment to you:

At RVU we believe that we can be the change we wish to see in the world. We hold ourselves accountable to being open and inclusive teammates and community members. We embrace our differences and are committed to creating an inclusive environment that reflects the world we live in.
