We’re looking for a Cost Accountant to join our team in Spalding, Lincolnshire on a 12 month fixed term basis.  

As Cost Accountant, your key responsibility will be to accurately analyse the cost structures of our warehouse, production, and distribution operations. This analysis will assess the financial impact on overall operations, costs, efficiency, and profitability for Westfalia Fruit. 

Responsibilities include: 

Analyse production costs 

• Verify production job data in the ERP system to ensure accurate cost allocation.  

• Conduct product costing and Bill of Materials (BOM) reviews. 

Develop cost estimates 

• Create cost estimates for new products, customer range adjustments, and revised production processes. 

Prepare financial reports 

• Generate weekly summaries of Packhouse site performance.  

• Investigate and explain budget variances compared to the previous week and prior year.  

• Analyse labour costs, efficiency, and machine utilization.  

• Conduct monthly financial variance analysis. 

Support audits and reporting 

• Provide data and reports for internal and external audits.  

• Respond to ad-hoc cost inquiries.  

• Analyse waste, supplier performance, and general ledger accounts.  

• Contribute to sustainability and emissions reporting. 

Requirements

Experience we look for: 

Essential 

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

• Computer literate with strong MS Excel and analytical skills 

•  Strong attention to detail 

• Good communication and interpersonal skills 

Desirable 

• Knowledge of Prophet ERP system would be an advantage 

• Experience of fresh produce/food manufacturing would be beneficial
