About the Role:

SMT GB is looking for a dedicated PDI Support Operator to join our team. As a PDI Support Operator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient pre-delivery inspection (PDI) process for our construction equipment. You will work closely with our technicians and perform a range of tasks to support the PDI process.

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for ensuring that all machines are moved from workshop to the yard once work has been completed by a PDI Engineer
•  ‘Warm up’ machines as per the PDI warm up description and note any anomalies on the PDI sheet and report them to the Leading Hand/Engineer
•  Support Operator will deliver the machine to an allocated PDI bay in the MPC workshop at time allocated by the Support Operator Management System
• Deliver PDI Kits to an allocated PDI bay from MPC stores at a time allocated by the Support Operator Management System

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, And Experience

• Previous experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction or heavy equipment industry
• Relevant operator qualification
• Technical knowledge and understanding of construction equipment
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge and understanding of different operating techniques and control systems across ADT, Wheel Loader and Excavator

Desirable:

• Understanding of machine control system
