Project Manager, 14 month Fixed Term Contract (salary up to £85,000)

  About the role

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and successfully delivering a strategically important change management project, covering multiple systems and workflow changes within our subscriptions and customer marketing business unit. This role involves coordinating internal and external resources, ensuring the project is delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Manager will also oversee all aspects of resourcing and prioritisation of work, set and manage people to deadlines and monitor / summarise progress.

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with senior leaders and other staff members.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope, and within budget.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand the project requirements and deliverables.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are kept informed of project progress, issues, and outcomes.

Resource Management:

  • Define project tasks and resource requirements.
  • Manage project resource allocation and workloads.
  • Coordinate the recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

Risk, Issue and Dependency Management:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project risks regularly and update risk management plans as needed.
  • Manage project issues to minimise their impact.
  • Manage project dependencies and ensure they do not impact the delivery of key project milestones.

Quality Management:

  • Ensure the project meets high-quality standards and client expectations.
  • Conduct quality assurance tests and evaluations.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Track project performance, specifically to analyse the successful completion of short and long-term goals.
  • Manage reporting to ensure all impacted stakeholders are updated on the status of the project.
  • Report and escalate issues as needed to management.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, for example project plans, RAID logs and status reports.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience in project management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum and Waterfall.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
