JOB TITLE: Mall Cleaner

LOCATION: The Forge Shopping Centre, Glasgow

WORKING HOURS: 24 hours per week, Rolling rota, working weekends

PAY RATE: £11.58 per hour

The Mall Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, and overall appearance of the mall premises, ensuring a clean and pleasant environment for shoppers and visitors. This role involves daily cleaning tasks, waste management, and collaborating with other maintenance staff. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Cleaning and Maintenance: 

• Sweep, mop, floors in all common areas, corridors, and entrances. 

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including sinks, toilets, mirrors, and floors. 

• Dust furniture, fixtures in common areas. 

• Empty trash bins and ensure proper disposal of waste materials. 

• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors. 

• Maintain cleanliness of elevators and escalators. 

• Spot clean walls, doors, and other surfaces as necessary. 

• Respond promptly to spills, stains, or any urgent cleaning needs. 

• Waste Management: 

• Empty waste containers regularly and dispose of trash in designated areas. 

• Ensure proper separation and disposal of recyclable materials. 

• Safety and Hygiene: 

• Use cleaning supplies and equipment safely and in accordance with company guidelines. 

• Follow all health and safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). 

• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the management team. 

• Customer Service: 

• Assist mall visitors with directions or information when necessary. 

• Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanour with the public. 

• Special Projects: 

• Participate in periodic deep cleaning activities. 

• Assist with set-up and cleanup during special events or promotions. 

Qualifications: 

• Previous experience in cleaning or janitorial services preferred. 

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (Cloths, mops, etc.). 

• Basic understanding of cleaning products and their safe usage. 

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness. 

• Good physical condition: ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. 

Work Environment: 

• Requires working early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the mall’s operating hours. 

• Indoor and outdoor work, depending on mall layout.
