We are currently seeking a Finance and Monitoring Officer to join our Newground team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial transactions and maintaining accurate financial records for various projects. You will also monitor the utilization of funds, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.

Please note that this a temporary position until March 2025 - extensions of this post are subject to futher funding.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of records.
  • Prepare financial reports and budgets for projects, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor expenditure against budgets, providing regular reports to management.
  • Work collaboratively with project managers to ensure effective financial management.
  • Assist in audits, ensuring that all financial practices comply with legal requirements.
  • Provide training and support to staff on financial procedures and best practices.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably within the charity or non-profit sector.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
