Help us make a difference as a Shift Electrical Technician based from our Operational site in Edmonton.

The hours of work are 4 days on 4 days off, 2 days 2 nights, 12 hr shifts.

£52,200 per annum

(London weighting allowance on top of salary).

A quick look at the role:

The Shift Electrical Technician will report to the Engineering Supervisor and is responsible for carrying out all maintenance activities on the plant, preventative or reactive and a strong focus on health and safety requirements is paramount.

The role will effectively and efficiently respond to all operational engineering needs as directed by the Engineering Supervisor to reduce operational downtime.

  • Supporting the Engineering Supervisor in the development of other team members skills and abilities.
  • Maintaining the workplace, tools and engineering facilities to prevent hazard and risks in the workplace and to promote effective engineering practices.
  • Complying fully with all safety instructions, policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
  • Supervising a team of contractors where necessary to ensure work carried out is to the required standard.
  • Carrying out problem solving activities on the plant and machinery to identify faults and rectify them.
  • Carrying out maintenance, both preventative and breakdown on all equipment at site to reduce operational downtime.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis activities (RCA) to identify the cause of failures and actions to prevent future failures increasing plant up time.
  • Proactively identifying potential faults and improvement opportunities on the plant equipment to prevent future failures or to identify more efficient methods of working

Requirements

Here’s what we require:

  • Level 3 Qualification in Electrical Engineering.
  • Qualified in 16th, 17th or 18th Edition Writing Regulations (BS7671)
  • Computer Literate (Microsoft office packages, email)
  • Strong knowledge in Electrical Maintenance.
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Strong personal commitment to safety.
  • Problem solving and root cause identification skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong ability to tolerate a significant amount of routine/scheduled activity.
