Client Details

One of the largest providers of education and training in Norfolk and Cambridgeshire which provides courses focused on preparing young people for work or university.

Description

1 To provide advice on strategies, policies and practices including the interpretation of new legislation and impact on existing policies and practices.

2 To support the effective planning, monitoring and control of staffing resources including the main staff budgets across the College including liaison with Finance Department in respect of budgetary demands.

3 To oversee the recruitment and selection process providing advice and guidance on the recruitment and selection of management level staff.

4 Overseeing improvements and opportunities for positive staff welfare improvement including leading the Employee Wellbeing Committee

5 Develop and oversee performance management processes including probation and appraisal systems.

6 Lead the planning and implementation of employee development programmes and lead the Staff Development Committee.

7 Advise on reward management systems, overseeing the monitoring of any processes and liaising with Finance in respect of control of payroll matters.

8 Advise on employment relations issues acting as a member of the Joint Negotiating Committees and Common Interest Group and as first point of contact for Trade Union matters.

9 Leading college communications for employees including the development of ways of listening to staff.

10 Develop systems to manage absenteeism (both sickness and leave) making recommendations for action as necessary.

11 Participate in disciplinary, grievance, regrading and other processes as required by the relevant procedure.

12 Manage resources associated with the HR Department including budgets and the computerised HR system.

13 Advise on data protection in matters relating to College employees

14 Participate in a duty rota of wider managerial responsibilities

15 Promote safe and healthy working practices in learning areas, applying and complying with health and safety regulations.

16 Follow and comply with college safeguarding and child protection procedures.

17 Participate in training and development activities as appropriate.

18. Attend team, department and college meetings as required.

19 Ensure confidentiality is maintained where required and compliance with General Data Protection regulations and policy.

20 Undertake such other work as may be required from time to time by the Principal consistent with the duties and grading of the post.

Profile

This role will suit a solution led, proactive and energetic HR professional with the desire to challenge the status quo and drive a culture of change!

A CIPD qualified HR Professional who enjoys a varied role combining operational and strategic work.

You will be competent in dealing with ER cases and enabling management to dissipate and reduce them.

A calm and confident people manager (a team of 6).

Experienced in policy review and process improvement.

Passionate about culture change and organisational development.

Able to think 'outside of the box'.

Job Offer

37 hour week, hybrid working.

35 days holiday

Final salary pension.
