Salary: Negotiable, dependant on skills and experience

The Role

Our Shift Operations Manager is responsible for the safe, effective, and efficient management of staff and operations throughout the night shift. As being a night’s role, you will be the most senior person on site, so we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, while finding ways to improve our operations. As we’re a small team, you will have 100% responsibility for your area, covering the night operations, your main responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for ensuring all daily paperwork completed by the team is accurately recorded.
  • Uphold and implement company standards and policies in all areas (Quality Management System, food safety, health & safety). Identify areas of improvement.
  • Record daily reports when required for KPI meetings. Communicate effectively with the team and other support/process department teams.
  • Responsible for ensuring the team are trained and/supervised to company safe operating procedures.
  • Strive to identify areas that can be improved - e.g., to improve efficiency, reduce waste, reduce giveaway, better working methods and process, reduce hours, improve quality, reduce costs, improve working conditions, work safer.

About You

What we’re looking for:

  • Good levels of literacy & numeracy
  • Leads by example – e.g., behaviours, attitude etc – good personal skills
  • Flexible
  • Experience within bakery process is not essential, however you will need to be committed to learning
  • Communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Decision making skills

The following would also be advantageous:

  • Experience of project management/continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience managing budgets up to £200k per annum
