M2 Partnership is looking to recruit a ROL CAD Technician or a CAD Technician who is a bright and enthusiastic person to help and support a major neighbourly matters consultancy with day-to-day work with their CAD ROL Team in the heart of Manchester.

The Role

You will be expected to

• Manage projects while working to deadlines and within budgets
• Learning and applying the theory of Daylight, Sunlight and Rights of Light
• Calculate maximum development envelope and propose cutbacks
• Helping in the creation of 3D computer models
• Run analyses and compile results using bespoke software
• Independently run modelling and analysis jobs
• Undertaking the necessary due diligence
• Generate 3D AutoCAD drawings
• Regularly communicate with internal Surveyors and Project Managers on progress.

The ideal candidate will work alongside each team member right through to the Partners, You would be expected to advise clients regarding their proposed developments and be taking part in weekly conference meetings. The candidate will be offered technical and theoretical training in the Rights of Light, Daylight and Sunlight matters

The Candidate

• Interest in consulting & be comfortable dealing with clients
• Ability to identify and manage risk in changing and challenging circumstances
• You should have a strong knowledge and understanding of architectural drawings as well as the built environment
• Strong 3D-modelling skills
• Good numerical skills
• Excellent written skills for future complex report writing
• If you are good at problem-solving and have an analytical mind to assist in analysing complex schemes their repercussions and solutions
• Ability to learn independently
• An interest in environmental design, specifically for daylight and sunlight
• Ideally have a degree in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Building Surveying, Building Engineering or Environmental Engineering
