Overview

A leading and growing M&E Contractor are looking for a Mechanical Site Manager to join their project delivery team.

They undertake projects within the commercial sectors up to the value of around £8m. They have an excellent reputation within the industry and have enjoyed a period of growth. Owned by a larger company they have a steady stream of work to supplement their own projects.

The ideal candidate will be a current Site Supervisor/Manager within the contracting sector and have worked their way up from the tools with excellent varied Mechanical knowledge and experience.

You will also need good IT and communication skills and be confident with the paperwork associated with successful project delivery. The work is in and around London so you can be based anywhere with good access to London.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • To manage, monitor and organise all mechanical works (plumbing / pipefitting, ductwork, air conditioning, thermal insulation etc…).
  • Liaise, control, and manage onsite activities with our own labour, sub-contractors, supervisors, and other trades.
  • Client liaison and site meeting attendance as appropriate.
  • Control and manage all method statement and risk assessments on site for our works and the works of subcontractors to ensure current, up to date, and sufficiently detailed to undertake works.
  • Work with commissioning teams and working to a commissioning programme throughout the testing and commissioning phase.
  • Control and manage mechanical sign offs and documentation to clients and our requirements.
  • Control of all ‘quality assurance’ (QA) of all mechanical works including snagging, benchmarks and sign offs.
  • Attend daily/weekly site meetings with clients and other trades. Conduct subcontractor meetings as appropriate.
  • Capability to review, manually update and implement project programmes.
  • Ensure good Health & safety systems and procedures are in place and being followed.
  • Take off materials in correct detail and in a timely manner to allow smooth progress of works.
  • Good experience and sound knowledge base of pipework systems and materials to manage and place orders.

Person Specification

  • Current CSCS card
  • Current SMSTS or SSSTS
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Accredited plumbing or pipework qualification Level 3
  • 10 years industry experience
  • Microsoft literate, with good experience in Microsoft Office Word/Excel.
  • Health and Safety experience and training
  • Other accreditations such as First Aid, Asbestos Awareness.
