My client situated in Blackburn are looking for a Cost Estimator to add to their ever expanding manufacturing team.

Role Overview:

As a Cost Estimator, you’ll play a pivotal role in our product development and cost optimisation efforts. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyse data, and propose innovative solutions to enhance our processes and products. Your expertise will directly impact our bottom line and drive our competitive edge.

Responsibilities of a Cost Estimator:

  • Analyze project specifications and requirements to determine the cost of materials, labour, and equipment needed for a project.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical documents.
  • Conduct research to gather data on materials, labor rates, and equipment costs.
  • Use cost estimating software and tools to calculate project costs.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for clients.
  • Present cost estimates to clients and answer any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Monitor project costs throughout the duration of the project and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain accurate pricing for materials and equipment.

Experience of a Cost Estimator:

  • Proven experience as a Cost Estimator or similar role in the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of cost control principles and techniques.
  • Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and equipment.
  • Proficient in using cost estimating software and tools.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present cost estimates to clients.
