A global provider of bespoke safety solutions are looking for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their multi-skilled team based in Bredbury, Stockport.

• £50,000 per annum
• Performance related bonus scheme (up to 15% of salary)
• Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (early finish on Fridays)

What will you be doing as an Electrical Design Engineer?

• Interpreting/developing client’s standards and technical specifications to enable the sales team to offer the best solutions to the customer
• Completing datasheets for electrical/instrumentation devices/equipment
• Reviewing and approving sub-vendor/sub-suppliers technical quotations (tender package) and evaluating it against projects requirements
• Transferring electrical designs to 2D CAD drawings, submitting completed drawings to the documentation controllers and making the relevant amendments
• Providing support to the sales team when quoting for and finalising orders
• Working closely with production team and the purchasing department, providing proactive support during the procurement and manufacturing stages of an order

What do you need?

• Degree qualified in a relevant discipline i.e. CEng Electrical Engineering
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Electrical Engineering role
• Experience in a high variation, low volume manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of industrial standards: BS 7671, ATEX and IEC-(phone number removed) essential
• An industrial electrical design qualification or similar
• Knowledge of different LV Voltage Levels / Power Supplies (3-Phase & Single Phase)
• Familiarity with Field Instruments such as Switches, Temperature Sensors, Transmitters, etc.
• Knowledge of 2D AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
