Overview:

To manage all warehousing operations, working alongside production and distribution.

Oversee the efficient receipt and storage of a wide variety of frozen, chilled and ambient products.  Deliver a cost effective and efficient warehouse service to the business. Ensure productivity targets are achieved and all warehouse processes are run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor and ensure accuracy of stock levels
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Use associated IT systems and ensure accurate storage of information
  • Evaluate quality and performance to plan improvements
  • Develop new strategies to streamline processes and reduce cost
  • Ensure service levels are continually met
  • Ensure good communication with customers and suppliers
  • Ensure quality, customer satisfaction and service level targets are met and report any issues
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety, food safety & hygiene in the workplace ensuring GMP is met

Key Tasks

  • Maintain warehouse operations ensuring all policies are procedures are adhered to
  • Control stock levels, keep systems up to date and reconcile data
  • Control damage to stock and equipment by establishing and monitoring policies and procedures
  • Inspect and maintain equipment and storage facilities
  • Achieve financial objectives in line with annual budgets; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Set clear goals and objectives for all employees
  • Optimise labour utilisation by reducing absenteeism, labour turn over and holiday planning
  • Adhere to customer compliance and practice and be aware of individual customer requirements
  • Ensure all staff are fully trained in health & safety, food safety and quality
  • Work with the Planning Team to identify busy periods and put appropriate plans into place
  • Promote a culture of Continuous Improvement

Qualifications/ Specification

Excellent Health & Safety Knowledge and safe working practices within a warehouse environment

Significant management experience in a multi temperature food environment.

Proven experience of meeting strict despatching deadlines on a daily basis

Experience of working with UK Major Multiple Retailers

IT Literate with hands on experience of computerised stock management systems (ERP/MRP)

Experience and exposure to dealing with complex customer requirements and working with internal teams to proactively forward customer relationships

Enthusiastic, can do attitude, spending time leading and driving the team

Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail

Excellent people management and communication skills

Able to prioritise effectively to produce positive results

Strong communication skills

Ability to work openly and collaboratively at all levels

Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
