Trainee Estimator

  • Salary £21-28,000 + package

  • Training and progression within a family run business

A family run main contractor in Hertfordshire are looking for a Trainee to be based from their offices.

They have a loyal/stable workforce and are financially secure. This position is available due to growth

They get lots of repeat business (roughly 75% of their work is repeat business)They have a full order book for this year and work secured for next year

This company will offer you exposure to a variety of schemes and the opportunity to be a big part of the business

You will benefit by working close to the construction process, and will be trained by a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor / Estimator, who has been with the company for a number of years

The Role – Trainee Estimator

As a Trainee Estimator, you will be assisting the Senior Estimator on a range of commercial schemes, ranging from education, local authority, commercial, healthcare, commercial to residential conversions up to circa £6m

Current schemes include:

·7 storey apartment block
·New build / refurbishment of a hotel worth £4.6m
·Church refurbishment and extension worth £1.4m
·School extension and refurbishment worth £1.5m

The right person: Trainee Estimator

You will be numerate (min C or above Maths GCSE)

You will have some experience working in the construction industry

You will be looking to become and Estimator / have a clear vision of where you would like your career to go. 

You will have strong personable skills and will be happy dealing with clients.
