Position: Quality Engineer

Salary: £33k to £40k (Based on Experience)

Shift: Day Shift

Purpose of the Role:

The Quality Engineer will oversee the Quality Inspection departments, ensuring all shop floor activities have the necessary training and resources. Key duties include investigating Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), handling concession and deviation requests, addressing customer complaints, scheduling customer witness inspections, coordinating with customers and suppliers, and conducting internal audits.

Job Overview:

• Oversee the Quality Inspection department
• Investigate NCRs
• Manage concession and deviation requests
• Address customer complaints
• Collaborate with the QA department on paperwork issues
• Schedule customer witness inspections
• Communicate with customers and suppliers
• Conduct internal audits
• Develop and update operational procedures
• Create and revise quality forms and documents
• Train inspectors and apprentices
• Review CAD drawings and new designs
• Maintain the calibration system
• Perform additional tasks as needed

• Communicate effectively with employees at all levels within the organization

Knowledge & Experience:

Essential:

• Keen attention to detail and the ability to meet exacting standards
• Experience with various measuring equipment
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
• Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Eagerness to learn and grow with the company and role

Desirable:

• Familiarity with Epicor Vantage
• Strong communication skills at all organizational levels
• Excellent relationship-building skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure with a positive attitude and commitment
