Job Title: People Advisor (One year maternity cover)

Location: Hybrid, able to come into the office in Coventry once a week, with travel to Burton on Trent, one day every other week. Flexible with pattern to make it work for you!

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive People Advisor to join our People team. This is an exciting opportunity to come and be part of a growing company, where you will be supporting our group of companies under Hallmark Engineering (EES Solutions and Hadfield Services).

You will be at the heart of our people strategy, working with the Head of People to drive employee engagement and foster a vibrant workplace culture, that truly puts people at the heart of everything we do. Your role will involve overseeing the full employment life cycle, from onboarding to developing and implementing innovative employee initiatives, that help make us the best place to work.

With a large contractor base, you will work closely with our umbrella companies, you'll also manage sponsorship applications, ensuring compliance and efficiency in all HR processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • We have an in-house recruitment team, so while you won't manage the actual recruitment process, you will prepare and manage employment contracts and contracts of services, ensuring accuracy and compliance. You will also support with questions on IR35, working with umbrella companies and supporting new hires who moving into a contractor role for the first time.
  • Manage sponsorship applications and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and requirements. This includes liaising with government bodies and ensuring timely submission of applications.
  • Oversee relationships with umbrella companies. This includes ensuring compliance with IR35 regulations and ensuring their integration is seamless.
  • Create an unforgettable onboarding journey for our new hires, ensuring a seamless and positive experience from day one. You'll lead engaging orientations, craft compelling onboarding materials, and collaborate with various departments to meet every new hire's needs. Your efforts will set the stage for their success and foster a welcoming and supportive workplace environment.
  • Manage the employee lifecycle journey, ensuring all HR processes are executed seamlessly and effectively, creating a smooth experience for employees and management alike.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for the People Team, providing support and solutions to foster a positive work environment. Provide essential support and guidance to contractors, making sure they feel valued and integrated into the team.
  • Develop and implement exciting initiatives to boost employee engagement and retention. Organize impactful events, conduct insightful surveys, and launch engaging activities to enhance the overall employee experience and make the workplace a place where everyone wants to work.
  • Stay ahead of legislative changes and advise the company on necessary updates to keep all HR activities compliant and efficient.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in a similar HR role, with a strong understanding of HR processes and best practices.
  • Experience in managing sponsorship applications and dealing with umbrella companies is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with managing a large contractor base and contracts of services is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of IR35 regulations and experience ensuring compliance with these regulations.
  • Knows what an excellent HR service looks like and is able to implement initiatives to drive this.
  • Wants to deliver a proactive HR service, where our value People First is truly alive in all that we do.
