Compliance Support Officer - Chemicals - West Yorkshire - Permanent

Our client is a long standing and award winning manufacturer and distributor of speciality chemicals supplying into agriculture, food production, manufacturing and water treatment.

Overview:
The role is responsible for providing the regulatory prerequisites (SDS and label documents etc.) that are required for our products. This includes new formulations, updates to existing documents and classification changes.
The role will involve significant collaboration with internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • To be the company resource on CLP (SDS & Labelling).
  • Preparation of material data safety sheets
  • Experience with Bartender software advantageous.
  • Responsible for Product Labelling Specifications
  • Identifying the correct hazard classification of material from online databases, supplier documentation and by physical testing. Including communicating with external testing houses
  • Validate all products in compliance with relevant national, regional, export and import rules and regulations.
  • Responding to a wide variety of customer regulatory compliance questions.
  • To play a monitoring role with impending legislative developments and informing management.
  • Poison Centre Notifications.
  • Update the classifications for products on site COMAH inventory.
  • Manage multiple priorities concurrently and set priorities to meet customer and business demands in a fast-changing, results-oriented environment.
  • Maintain registered product regulatory compliance
  • Any additional responsibilities, as assigned, according to the defined functional and business objectives.

Skills and Education:
Knowledge of EU chemical global harmonisation system (CLP)
Degree in Chemistry or science related subject
Experience in SDS production
Good organisational skills
