£50,000 - £55,000/annum

  • Experience in food manufacturing/processing is preferrable

Key Activities of the Post

  • Provide competent and professional Health, Safety & Environmental management support business wide.
  • Actively promote Health, Safety and Environmental best practice providing effective communication at all levels of the business maintaining an appropriate level of confidentiality and sensitivity when dealing with information, both verbally and documented, internally as well as externally.
  • Develop a competent understanding of, and maintain the Company's Health, Safety & Environmental management systems, being proactive in the promotion of them throughout the Company.
  • Carry out any reasonable task requested of you in relation to the core operation of the Company.


Inspections/Monitoring/Auditing

  • Undertake regular safety & environmental sampling/auditing inspections as required by Company Policy.
  • Coordinate the collection of completed departmental safety audits/inspections


Safety Systems

  • Support the Managing Director and Head of Operations in the application of regulatory requirements and Company Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure risk and other assessments are carried out and acted upon as required by H&S legislation and Company policy and assist in the development of "Safe Working Practices" and all other relevant procedures.

Reporting

  • Manage the coordination of accident/incident and near miss investigations, prompting remedial corrective action, and reporting findings through the Company procedures.
  • Carry out the timely Reporting of Injuries, Diseases, and Dangerous Occurrences. RIDDOR
  • Analyse and report on inspection, audit and accident/near miss data.

Essential Requirements

  • Health & Safety Diploma
