We’re looking for a Trade Counter Assistant to join a thriving manufacturing business at their site based in Bredbury, Stockport.

This role involves working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment providing support to customers and team members.

• Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 5:00pm / Friday 8:00am – 3:00pm

What will you be doing as a Trade Counter Assistant?

• Inputting sales orders, quotes, and enquiries both face-to-face
• Ensuring all dispatches are invoiced and allocated correctly
• Handling and allocation of all payments including cash and credit card lodgements
• Coordinating with colleagues to manage and collect outstanding uncollected products
• Making and receiving ad hoc and planned calls with sales orders, quotes, and enquiries
• Ensuring the trade counter and showroom are clean, tidy, and welcoming
• Setting up and maintaining new customer accounts and terms
• Promoting the use of the "online app" by customers
• Reviewing customer sales profiles to identify opportunities and reporting to the branch manager or sales team
• Assisting with coverage of breaks and holiday relief on the trade counter and warehouse as required
• Any other duties necessary to ensure the smooth running of the trade counter

What do you need?

• Experience in a similar role is advantageous
• Proficiency in handling payments and using sales order systems
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Flexibility to assist in various duties as needed
