Business Support Officer
Posted 04/06/2024 by Devon County Council
Full Time 37 hours per week (part time would be considered)
This Business Support Officer position is offered as a full time, Monday to Friday, opportunity. Consideration can be given to part-time or flexible working arrangements. This post is assigned into Devon Partnership NHS Trust, with all colleagues working within the service employed by Devon County Council
Devon County Council’s Approved Mental Health Professional daytime service provides consideration to requests made under the Mental Health Act 1983 for compulsory admission to hospital and community orders. It works closely with our Out of Hours AMHP Team colleagues to ensure a seamless service 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
AMHPs work with all age groups and carry out assessments and interventions under the statutory powers of the Mental Health Act. Consisting of four locality teams across the county and a centralised referral team, the service works with partner agencies including psychiatric services, police, general hospitals, Children’s services, learning disability and older person’s mental health teams.
This role is aimed at supporting the AMHP Service Manager, AMHP Team Managers and AMHPs themselves in maintaining day to day operations and functions of the service. The successful post holder will not be expected to interact with members of the public, service users or patients directly, but will collaborate with colleagues across the sector as required.
The main tasks of the role include:
- Setting up, collating agendas and minuting meetings for all parts of the service
- Supporting the development and maintenance of duty rotas, patient allocation lists and basic data needs.
- Supporting the Team Days and events related to the AMHPs’ continuing practice needs
- Supporting data collection and information gathering requirements
- Supporting service projects and professional development opportunities for the AMHPs
The post holder will be able to carry out their task via a hybrid working approach, which includes working from home and some working on the Wonford House Hospital site in Exeter and other locality bases by agreement.
We are seeking candidates with experience of working alongside registered professionals in either health or social care settings, ideally within mental health or other similar frontline service setting. You will have a good appreciation of the dynamics of working in such environments. The successful candidate will be expecting to proactively support colleagues and be able to work without direct supervision, but under the direction of the AMHP Service Manager.
