An opportunity has arisen within our Empty Homes Team based in Lichfield, Staffordshire. You will lead and manage a team of 20 engineers plus appointed contractors delivering housing maintenance works to meet our sector leading standard ensuring our customers are provided with home.
You will ensure all works undertaken by the team and its contractors are carried out according to current Health and Safety legislation and in strict accordance with the Group’s Health and Safety Policy and Procedure. You will also ensure focus on attaining high levels of customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
You will understand the importance of utilising resources effectively and efficiently for construction/maintenance repair activities. You will understand the importance of minimising overall void timescales and with this in mind you will be able to collaborate with other teams to make sure our customers journey into a place they can call home is a smooth transition.
You will be an inspiring leader, supporting and developing your team with required training and coaching to increase their capability and further their personal development. You will promote best practices, look for opportunities to improve the service and learn from situations when things may not always go according to plan.
In this role you will:
- Manage the Empty Homes repairs service in our Staffordshire operating area which covers Lichfield, Tamworth, Burntwood.
- You will be responsible for the efficiency within your team operation: performance management of colleagues undertaking recruitment, performance management and colleague development.
- Be responsible for programming, monitoring and delivering multiple work sites in your operational area ensuring resources are allocated efficiently ensuring operational targets are met.
- Work collaboratively with your peer group and other key stakeholders who are involved with the relet service as a whole.
- You will be responsible for safety within your service.
- You will be able to effectively manage operational costs and deliver your budget targets.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of working in a similar role.
- Experience in managing a diverse, direct labour resource across multiple trade disciplines
- Experience of managing sub contrcators
- To be a motivational leader who will bring out the best in your team
- To be a strong leader with the ability to recognise and address areas for improvement and service failures
- Have proven management and coaching experience
- Have experience managing a large budget and delivering an efficient and effective service
- A full, clean UK driving licence
- A commitment to be a strong ambassador for Bromford.
