Murray Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled Bicycle Mechanic to join our client in Glasgow.  This is a permanent position.

Responsibilities:

  • Inspect bicycles to ensure safety and functionality, checking for worn components, loose parts, and potential hazards.
  • Replace worn-out parts, make necessary adjustments, and fine-tune bicycles for optimum performance, including adjusting brakes, gears, and tire pressure.
  • Provide advice to customers on proper maintenance and repairs, including care for the bike, lubrication of moving parts, and prevention of common issues.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of various types of bicycles, including mountain bikes, racing bikes, and leisure bikes, while staying up to date with product developments.
  • Assist customers with bicycle purchases, including sizing them for their perfect fit and ensuring they are buying the best bike and accessories to meet their needs.

Experience and Skills Needed:

  • At least one year’s experience working in a bicycle store as a Bicycle Mechanic.
  • Analytical thinker confident in solving mechanical problems with minimal supervision.
  • High standards of customer service.
  • Confidence in assisting customers with their bicycle purchases.
  • Willingness to learn about the brands we work with.
  • Ability to follow shop procedures for sales, repairs, and bicycle hires.
