Proposals Engineer - Basingstoke

Overview
To create accurate and timely estimating sheets and proposals, primarily for the Projects division. You will also carry out site assessment visits, where required, to aid in the above tasks.
Our client, a leading company in the water sector, is currently seeking a Proposals Engineer to join their team in Basingstoke on a permanent basis.
Role
- Enquiry handling:
- Assess and respond to customer inquiries, creating estimating sheets and proposals.
- Ensure commercial and technical compliance with the company standards.
- Propose and/or agree with the Projects Director on the technical and commercial bid strategy.
- Engage and collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other departments.
- Visit clients and/or sites to fully understand their requirements.
- Document and record proposals properly on Sharepoint.
- Order Winning:
- Respond to bid clarification questions and attend customer meetings to support negotiations.
- Assist with contract handovers to the Projects delivery team.
- General:
- Stay alert to competitor activity, business opportunities, and threats.
- Provide input and ideas for new or improved products and services.
- Ensure compliance with relevant company management systems and procedures, including health and safety legislation.
- Perform other duties as reasonably expected or requested.
Requirements
- Engineering qualifications: HNC/HND or a degree in Engineering.
- Engineering understanding/experience in at least one or more of the following: chemical dosing, water treatment process, fluid dynamics/pipework system design, control systems, and electrical installation.
- Work experience in the water industry and/or a similar role.
Location
This role is based in Basingstoke. Office work is not available on a hybrid basis.
Salary
The salary for this position is between £30,000 and £45,000 per annum.
