Overview:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Test Technician to work for our client across their brand-new facility in Birmingham. This is an exciting role that will be working as part of the Product Development Team and Reporting to the COO working on developing a Hyper Rapid DC charging solution for a range of commercial Vehicles.

This is huge opportunity to be part of our clients growing team and have the opportunity to support the engineering team, working collaboratively to produce test protocols, developing test rigs, and conducting trials to verify the work being undertaken by the engineering design team.  

Key Work Activities:

• Involved in supporting the engineering team, working collaboratively to produce test protocols.
• Involved in developing test rigs, and conducting trials to verify the work being undertaken by the engineering design team.
• You will be pivotal in converting electrical mechanical designs, and providing engineering information to support the systems manufacture, site installation and through life service support.
• This role will also be working collaboratively with the production engineers who support the development of serial production charging solutions.
• The role will have responsibilities which are multifaceted include for taking responsibility for assembling test ridges and executing test procedures to verify the electro mechanical designs.
• Also involved in developing manufacturing designs and working along the design team to diagnose faults and validate the first of a kind system.

Person Fit:

• Would suit someone who is proficient in assembling electromechanical test rigs, undertaking instrumented stage builds, carrying out maintenance procedures on test rigs.  
• Somone with strong communication and project management skills. 
• HNC in engineering or a related field is desirable.
• A track record and experience from working in or with a power system product supplier bring new innovations to market.
• Experience of working in a SME would be desirable and have a keen interest in areas of low carbon energy technology.
• Would also suit someone who is numerate with a strong analytical and problem solving ability.
