The Role of Audio Visual Technician

As Lead AV Technician  your core responsibility will be to facilitate the installation of our audio-visual equipment across a range of client locations. You will work closely with our in-house team as well as subcontractors to ensure the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities as a Audio Visual Technician:

  • Undertake site surveys to assess requirements and advise on hardware, software, and resource needs
  • Facilitate first-fix cable installations for audio solutions
  • Install AV systems at customer locations across the country
  • Oversee supporting resources on-site to maintain quality standards
  • Adhere to all relevant health and safety legislation
  • Ensure thorough quality control of installations, with equipment and software functioning as per the scope
  • Brief installation partners on project requirements as needed
  • Make decisions on-site related to risk assessments and changes in scope or additional requirements
  • Assist with the selection and vetting of installation engineers to build a local ad-hoc team
  • Lead on service calls under service-level agreements with key clients
  • Provide advanced programming support for audio, lighting, and other AV solutions

Required Skills and Experience as a Audio Visual Technician:

  • Extensive experience in installing audio-visual hardware – (Minimum of 3 years)
  • Comfortable working in a client facing environment
  • Knowledge of digital signage content management systems (preferred)
  • Understanding of LCD, LED, video conferencing, video over IP, and video matrix distribution systems
  • Experience with IT networking and fault-finding AV systems
  • Basic PC configuration skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CSCS / ECS card holder
  • IPAF and PASMA accredited
  • Full, clean UK driving license
  • First aid qualified

Working Hours:

Core working hours - Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:00pm. When working on site and staying away from home, hours may vary. Please note this role requires you to be on site and away from home up to 70% of the time.
