Principal Software Engineer - .Net/React/Angular (web/microservices/databases)

Xpertise Recruitment has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer. Our client, based in Greater Manchester, operates in the financial services sector.

Role: Principal Software Engineer/Lead Software Engineer

Salary: £80-£85k + bonus & benefits

Location: Greater Manchester (hybrid, 2 days on site per week)

About the role:

The Principal Software Engineer will lead development across large or multiple teams, offering expertise in various technical domains with profound knowledge in a specific area. This role also requires influencing both internal stakeholders and external third parties.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, test, deliver, release and document user-friendly and customer centric software solutions, as required
  • Ensure solutions are user-focused, strategically aligned and effectively integrated across multiple teams and platforms to ensure the business needs are met
  • Collaborate, work with and develop an understanding of the needs and requirements of both internal and external stakeholders in order to achieve the desired outcomes
  • Build and collaborate and transfer skills and knowledge

Skills needed:

  • Proven work experience in a Software Engineering setting
  • Advanced knowledge of multiple programming languages, specifically including .Net, Javascript (React.js, Angular.js)
  • Experience with a range of modern web application frameworks and integration technologies
  • Full stack development experience including web, services (microservices) and databases.
  • Analytical skills to interpret complex relationships and data sets.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in line with the seniority of this role
  • Leadership skills to both influence (indirect) and direct the technical activities of Engineers and provide effective coaching and training
  • Should be evidently a subject matter expert in two of the following software engineering specialisms: Engineering standards and Practices; User Experience; Analysis and Design; Performance; DevOps and CI/CD tooling
