I am currently recruiting for a growing aviation business within Bordon for a Purchasing Manager.

If you have strong purchasing, logistics, and inventory management experience with great people management skills, this may be the position for you!

You will be responsible for ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity by planning, implementing, and monitoring the supply chain strategy. You must have the ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing monthly reports for supplier and business performance via the ERP system
  • Management of supplier pricing to achieve the best value for the company and dealing with the forecasting of costs
  • Internal and external auditing
  • Performing stock checks and warehouse inventory
  • Placing orders with suppliers, expediting orders pre and post agreed delivery dates, and supplementing the team during absence
  • Attend internal and external meetings to contribute towards the operational and strategic development of the company
  • Ensure the smooth running of all operations by continuously improving processes and solving any arising issues
  • Taking responsibility for team motivation, welfare, discipline, and activity of the supply chain team to ensure they are operating to standards
  • To identify any missing or extra training/development opportunities for your team and facilitate this
  • Holding weekly meetings with the supply chain team to ensure they are kept up to date with all developments company wide
  • Ensure all supply chain team members are following the correct procedures and compliance
  • Monitoring and reporting on team targets and performance
  • Ensuring you and your team are following all Health and Safety guidelines
Necessary Experience:
  • Purchasing experience, desirable is within the manufacturing and distribution industry
  • People management and supporting experience
  • Strong IT skills including the use of ERP systems (Microsoft D365 is desirable)
  • Inventory management
  • The ability to build and retain relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Sales and operational planning abilities including KPI and target delivery
  • Organised individual and the ability to remain calm under pressure
